I think what Carla said translated in English is: The way in which it affected our lives is that the beaches in our region were dirty with oil and it had an effect on ocean life, because many fish died, and on the fishermen and on the birds which eat them, like seagull, etc.

I think what Alba said translated into English is: Personally it did not change my life too much because nobody from my family worked in the sea, but it was very sad to watch the sea full of oil, to walk the beaches and see dead fish and dead birds in the sand, all this was very sad.
